All major shipping carriers use a pricing technique called dimensional (DIM) weight to calculate shipping costs. Dimensional weight takes into account the size of a package to determine the shipping cost.

US ecommerce shipping carriers

USPS is king when it comes to last-mile delivery. Because USPS already runs postal services for local residential routes daily, it’s often the cheapest option for ground shipping.
