How does ShipBob’s white label fulfillment services work?

Fulfill your customers’ orders faster and more efficiently than ever before with technology created by a leading fulfillment company.

Implement ShipBob’s warehouse management system (WMS) that we built from the ground up and use in all of our fulfillment centers, while your customers get access to the same technology loved by thousands of ShipBob merchants with a built-in IMS, OMS, analytics and more.

It’s “powered by ShipBob” because we’re in the background – your customers will log in to a dashboard that’s branded with your logo, not ours.

With ShipBob, your customers can integrate their online store(s) and other sales channels to ShipBob’s cloud-based fulfillment solution.

ShipBob’s warehouse management software (WMS) makes a lot of daily reporting available to our team, like how many orders or pieces were picked that day and what imbalances there might have been. That data is crucial from an economic standpoint, so we love that we get it seamlessly through ShipBob.

ShipBob offers even more

3PLs can tap into ShipBob’s decade-long carrier relationships to reduce both parcel spend and operations complexity by taking over managing pickups, while diversifying their last-mile carrier network and sorting packages in ShipBob’s world-class sort centers.

This way, 3PLs avoid the hassle of juggling multiple carriers and managing claims and instead manage just one pickup by ShipBob for streamlined efficiency and fast transit times. ShipBob even provides the necessary gaylords and pallets for your parcels.

White-Labeled 3PL Fulfillment FAQs

Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions about solutions that are white-labeled for 3PLs to use with their own customers, as well as white-labeled fulfillment solutions 3PLs provide.

What white-label packaging options does ShipBob offer around premium gift notes and marketing inserts?

ShipBob’s Customization Suite allows its customers to create branded unboxing experiences, in addition to free white-labeled fulfillment services like having brands use their own logo on sender labels that are printed and packed by ShipBob, as well as fully branded tracking pages to track each fulfillment action and carrier movement.

Brands can provide their own custom inserts, branded boxes, poly mailers, and dunnage (filling material). Standard plain packaging and custom sender labels are provided at no cost.

Brands can even have ShipBob print marketing inserts on demand for them, with options for standard 4×6-inch prints or fully customizable, data-driven inserts through a partnership with UnDigital. Customizable gift notes are also offered, including standard black-and-white ZPL prints or premium 4×6-inch full-color postcard options, both supporting brand logos.

How can I maintain a direct line of communication with ShipBob’s fulfillment centers through white-label service?

ShipBob’s “Powered By” solution is offered to other 3PLs, enabling them to use ShipBob’s logistics infrastructure and/or technology (WMS) under their own brand. For both of these, the customers communicate directly with their 3PL and never ShipBob, as the customers won’t know ShipBob is who is powering their technology or more.

For brands directly utilizing ShipBob’s outsourced fulfillment, direct communication with ShipBob’s fulfillment operations is maintained primarily through the Merchant Care team via chat, email, or submitting a case. ShipBob also has on-site reps at each location to help troubleshoot issues for its direct clients.

How does ShipBob integrate its white-labeled 3PL solution with NetSuite ERP and Shopify?

ShipBob offers its proprietary Warehouse Management System (WMS) as a white-labeled solution (“Powered By“) for other 3PLs. This WMS, along with a merchant-facing dashboard, facilitate integrations with various commerce tools, including major ecommerce platforms like Shopify and integrations with popular ERPs like NetSuite.

This means that a 3PL leveraging ShipBob’s white-label WMS can have their own customers connect their Shopify stores and NetSuite (or other ERPs) to streamline order flow, inventory management, and other data, all through the WMS interface that appears under the 3PL’s branding.

What volume minimums are typical for white-labeled fulfillment?

Most white-labeled 3PL services, including offerings (similar to ShipBob’s Powered By solution), do not publish strict volume minimums publicly but let you request a quote. Instead, pricing and program terms are typically defined per client based on order volume, location, and more.

For brands wanting a fulfillment partner, a 3PL’s minimum requirements may also depend. It’s best to request a quote so it can be customized to your unique needs.

What turnaround times apply for custom-branded order assembly?

Turnaround SLA expectations can vary, but they are generally structured around standard fulfillment SLAs:

ServiceTypical Turnaround
Standard pick-and-pack (DTC orders)Same-day or next-day shipping if orders are imported before the local cutoff time
Custom-branded assembly (kitting)These often require advance planning and may incur per unit labor charges with extra business days depending on volume and complexity

Bottom line: Ensure your provider clearly outlines both standard and custom assembly turnaround terms in their SLAs.

How can businesses ensure quality control in white-label fulfillment?

Quality control in branded fulfillment hinges on robust processes integrated into every stage, including:

  • Inbound verification: Product volume and quality checks at receiving hubs (including scanning and inspection) to validate every unit before stocking
  • Digital verification during picking/packing: Systems requiring packers to confirm items visually (often via image or SKU display), layered with pick‑check‑pack workflows to reduce mis-picks or errors
  • Branded packaging audits: Visual checks ensure correct box type, inserts, notes, labels, and other branding elements are applied accurately
  • Operational dashboards and feedback loop: Real-time tracking of error rates, order accuracy, and fulfillment KPIs, with rapid alerts for deviations

By combining initial receiving checks, workflow-level verification steps, and real-time analytics, brands can maintain high accuracy and consistent branded experience.

Order management

Track your orders from A to Z. Filter orders by status, search for specific orders, see a quick timeline view of where your order is in the fulfillment process (e.g. when an order is picked, packed, or shipped), easily find shipping-related information (e.g., weights, dimensions, or carrier service), and get a quick snapshot of any orders that require action.

With order management software for all order types, you can manage subscriptions, make changes to your orders post-purchase, map shipping options, and automatically share tracking information.

Inventory management

Manage their inventory with the right tools and guidance. It’s easy to view the status of inventory and quantity on hand across locations at any point in time, identify slow-moving inventory with high storage costs, and gain insights into the performance of units sold over time by channel.

Reporting and analytics

Analytics tools are packed with charts to help you with everything from year-end reporting, to better supply chain decision-making.

Data can be a competitive advantage, and built-in reports show days of inventory left before you run out, impact of promotions on stock levels, each shipping method’s average cart value, shipping cost, and days in transit, and much more.
