Choosing ShipBob for your order fulfillment in Spain
Rather than looking at international shipping and fulfillment as a hassle, look at it as an opportunity for growth. The faster you can get packages out the door and the more you can reduce shipping costs, the quicker your business will grow. ShipBob can help you streamline your fulfillment strategy so you can grow your business faster.
Painless international shipping
International shipping doesn’t have to be a nightmare, but if you don’t know how to navigate customs, import duties, and other complications, then it can be a challenge to get started. Outsourcing fulfillment to a 3PL with international capabilities removes this hassle and enables you to access international markets with minimal downside.
Sunglasses brand Ombraz quickly started shipping from three fulfillment centers in two different countries when they partnered with us in 2018. Since then, we’ve fulfilled and shipped their orders to 55 countries on seven continents.
“When I found out ShipBob was expanding into both Canada and Europe, I knew we wanted to expand our physical footprint with them. This would offer us the ability to reduce taxes and tariffs that come with international shipping. Now, Canadian-based orders will see a large reduction in shipping costs.”
Nikolai Paloni, Co-Founder of Ombraz
Offer faster, more affordable shipping options
One of the big disadvantages of international shipping is that last-mile delivery is typically much longer. Whether you’re a US-based business shipping to Spain or a Spanish business shipping to the US, if each package you ship has to cross the Atlantic Ocean then your customers will have to wait longer to get their orders. Storing your products on both sides of the Atlantic will drastically reduce transit times, and the cost of shipping as well.
One of our partners, supplement company TB12, saw their shipping costs decrease by a whopping 25%, while at the same time achieving 75% growth in 2019.
“We experienced 4x our normal volume this past December, which was our second holiday season with ShipBob.”
Michael Peters, VP of E-Commerce Operations at TB12
Improve your conversion rate
Shipping costs that are too high, or delivery timelines that are too long, are two of the biggest causes of cart abandonment. Improve those two factors and you’re likely to see an improvement in sales conversion.
For example, Proper Wild, a nutritional beverage company, started out in two ShipBob fulfillment center locations and were able to triple their conversion rate by offering free shipping.
“We are focusing solely on the US market for now and are selling in all 50 states. ShipBob’s fulfilling customer orders from our Shopify store including subscription orders. It’s really easy; it’s their bread and butter — those orders happen and just get fulfilled.”
Vincent Bradley, CEO & Co-Founder of Proper Wild
When is the right time to outsource to a 3PL?
Outsourcing fulfillment to a 3PL can lighten your workload, help you focus on business growth, and optimize your fulfillment and shipping processes. But, you don’t want to outsource too quickly before you have the order volume to justify the cost of outsourcing. So, while there’s ‘right’ time to outsource, the optimal time to outsource is when you’re experiencing problems or obstacles that are slowing down your growth — that’s when a 3PL can help. Here are some examples:
- You want to ship internationally, but don’t have the expertise to get started with international fulfillment.
- Your team spends too much time on shipping and logistics.
- Your fulfillment team makes too many errors or turnarounds are too long.
- You are spending too much for shipping and your customers are experiencing long delivery times.
