Everything closes, and everyone goes home \u2014 sometimes for several weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For ecommerce businesses that manufacture products in China, now is the time to take notice of this holiday. The Chinese new year shutdowns are usually followed by mass demand from businesses that need to make up for the two weeks worth of delayed products. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those of us who rely on shipping and manufacturing businesses, the Chinese New Year shutdown is an event that we need to be aware of (and prepared for) in advance to avoid delays that could be catastrophic to our businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even if you\u2019ve been through this before, it\u2019s important to note that CNY in 2026 is 19 days later than it was in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Get prepared for the Year of the Horse with the best kind of red envelope: keeping your business in stock of inventory!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-chinese-new-year-2026-how-will-it-affect-my-business\">Chinese New Year 2026: How will it affect my business?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your business relies on manufacturers in China or the other countries that celebrate the holiday, the Chinese New Year shutdown will probably affect your business \u2014 even if the factory is just one step in your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shipbob.com\/blog\/retail-supply-chain\/\">retail supply chain<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-halted-production\">Halted production<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chinese New Year is a public holiday in countries where it is celebrated.
